Below is a brief outline of ways we are continuing to conduct real estate business while keeping our staff, brokers, and clients safe:

Walk-though and talk it over – we are ready to meet with you virtually to talk you through any property and answer your questions. Or even just to talk about what’s going on in the mountains, we’re always up for a virtual happy hour, too! 

A Company in The Cloud

Cloud-ready - SSF has worked hard in recent years to upgrade all of our technology to be in the cloud, which means our brokers are able to work remotely from wherever they are, all while being supported by our staff of full-time administrative, closing, and marketing professionals. Whether getting together virtually for our regular meetings, collaborating on a spreadsheet in real time, or hosting a company-wide digital training, we are up and running full steam ahead. 

Closings Made Easy

Our in-house closing team is staying apprised of all changes and are here fulltime to support our brokers and customers. The majority of closings are all electronic nowadays – and we have plenty of experience working with clients remotely from wherever they are. For cash transactions, all buyers are being asked to sign electronically. Sellers are being asked to sign the majority of their documents electronically and only necessary signers be present for notary appointments. For remote signings, sellers can now use online notarization for a small fee. Buyers with loans are being asked to sign majority of documents electronically and only necessary signers be present. Some lenders are allowing online notarization, but the legislation is changing quickly! Rest assured, our in-house closing department will be there along the way. 

We've Taken the Safe Showing Pledge

The real estate community is taking additional steps to ensure the safety of our all our communities. We are all committed to the Vail Board of Realtor's “Safe Showing Pledge” to protect our communities and our Buyers and Sellers.

• I will adhere to all local social distancing guidelines.
• I will wear a mask and gloves and provide them to clients that don’t have them and will change gloves between clients.
• I will maintain a detailed log of clients for every showing.
• I will ask all buyers and sellers if they are sick or have been sick before showings.
• I will stay home if showing any symptoms or signs of sickness, or had contact with a known positive case.
• I will limit showings to decision-makers and encourage buyers to look at homes by doing virtual tours and on-line resources.
• I will prioritize remote work and provide personal protective equipment for people at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19.
• I will provide guidance and encouragement on personal sanitation,including frequent hand washing.
• I will provide documents electronically.
• I will travel separately from clients and meet at the property.
• I will sanitize high-touch surfaces and make sure disinfecting happens between showings.
• I will not conduct open houses nor provide food or beverage during showings.

Committed to Staying Safe

Social Distancing – While our physical office locations will be closed for the utmost protection of our community, all of our brokers, staff and corporate teams are working from home during this time. This does not change our commitment to our work of providing great service to our customers.

Constant Contact – We are always available via phone or email 7 days a week. Contact information for all of our Brokers is available on our website.

Working Remotely – We’re in the Cloud! SSF is fully prepared to work remotely by utilizing Microsoft 365 and Teams software. Our teams are able to stay connected by using video conferencing capabilities for trainings and meetings, chat for constant team communication and online access to all our tools and resources.

Video Training and Meetings – Our brokers and support teams will continue to meet via phone calls and video calls, our broker development and education programs will continue and we will stay apprised of and educate our customers on all market changes. We are offering multiple trainings and webinars each week to keep our brokers and staff connected and learning.

Closings – Our in-house closing team has coordinated with local title companies and entities and are continuing as usual with modified procedures including e-signing and limiting those that need to meet in person, if at all.

Open Houses & Showings – We recommend all our sellers contact their broker regarding showings and any services that require entry into the home. We want our customers, vendors, and brokers to all stay safe and stay home as long as the Colorado Stay at Home order is in place. As always, we will continue to market all listings in the best possible way and will, of course, maintain all safety and cleanliness measures necessary. While public in-person open houses and showings are on hold, we have virtual tours of homes available on our website.

Virtual Resources for Buyers – we continue to help our buyers through their purchase decisions and closings. Our website is the #1 resource for all virtual tours and videos available for viewing and comparing properties, as well as real-time property alerts to be the first to know when a home hits the market.

We are also saddened by what we know is a hard time for our local small business owners who usually operate on small margins. Please consider supporting them during this time by grabbing a to-go order from your favorite restaurant or buying a gift certificate from your favorite spa, coffee shop, movie theater, etc and plan on using it the next time you are in town!

Keeping the Vail Valley Safe

We are so proud and thankful for the strength of our community and the foresight of our leaders to make sure the Eagle River Valley is a safe place.
